Albrecht Stahmer

Albrecht has over 20 years of experience in learning and development with over 22,000 training delivery hours.
  • Nationality:  American & German
  • Location:  Bangkok
  • Geographic training coverage:  Asia, Europe & North America; available to travel

Prior to entering the L&D industry, he worked through four mergers, one IPO and multiple start-ups as a telecom executive in North America and Asia with global firms such as General Electric, AT&T and XO Communications. As a result, he maintains a deep understanding of fluid, global work environments and the subsequent issues. Based on this knowledge and experience, his deliveries help clients manage change and disruption across multinational operations. We consider him our leadership and management guru – bad management to be precise – having worked for five companies that have declared bankruptcy.

Albrecht’s L&D certifications include ATD Master Instructional Designer, ATD Creating Leadership Development Programs, ATD CHANGE Model, ATD COACH Model, Biomimicry for Creative Innovation, David Novak Leadership, Facet5 & TeamScape, Kirkpatrick Model — Four Levels Evaluation, LEGOⓇ Serious PlayⓇ, Marshall Goldsmith Stakeholder-Centered Coaching, Prosci ADKAR Change Management, and TotalSDI.

Also an accredited member of the International Federation of Journalists and National Writers Union, you can peruse Albrecht’s musings on management in his Globalists column at Dispatches Europe and in RedBikeHRD’s own quarterly newsletter, The RedBikeHRD Peloton.

In his free time he scours the globe in pursuit of the world’s best bourbon bars. He developed both his people skills and fondness for bourbon while working his way through college as a bartender, notably at the renowned Tobacco Road in Miami. This passion has since manifested itself into an Executive Bourbon Steward certification. Other outside business interests include investments in Havalina Wine in Singapore, various food and beverage establishments across Asia, and the non-profit, grassroots NBA2Lou movement, which he co-founded in support of the establishment of an NBA franchise in Louisville.

Born in Paraguay, raised in Puerto Rico, New Jersey, Louisville and Miami, Albrecht has since lived and worked in Miami, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Tokyo, Singapore, New York City and currently Bangkok.
